As a youngster, Oakville’s Vishal Vijay was profoundly affected by the abject poverty he witnessed on a family trip to India.
“I didn’t really know what to do, but I knew that something was wrong and that I had to do something to help the kids that I saw,” he said.
When he returned to Canada, Vijay, his younger brother, Ishan, and three friends formed a group and held a bake sale, raising just under $400.
