Sharing our safety experiences is key to building a strong safety culture and ensuring all of our members go home safe from their Scouting adventure. The Safe Scouting Team has prepared the attached summary of recent incidents to help build our overall awareness of what is happening at Scouts Canada. These include safety tips you can use with your youth to make for more great, safe Scouting programs.
Please take a minute to download and share with your leaders and youth at an appropriate time. I would suggest 1 “Scouters Safety Moment” per week of activity adventure / camp as a “Scouters Five for Safety”. Make this a normal part of how you make safety real and personal to your youth and leaders – encourage youth to prepare a Scouters Five as part of their adventurous journey and progression. We have materials available online in addition to these that they can use.
